Hey guys! So this will be my last post from the inside of my Summer School classroom... I first started summer school 3 weeks ago. I thought it would consist of my doing work all day everyday. Well I was right, but many of the myths related to summer school were proved wrong! Such as the teachers killing you with the load of homework you are given. Remember, it;s summer for the teacher's too. The more work they give you, the more they mark. Second, teacher's do not give you only a few hours to prepare for a presentation, they assign it in class, give you an hr or so to work with your group and also give you the time at home to work on it. The presentations are usually due the next day. A major misconception of summer school is that it takes away a whole month of your summer. I agree to some aspects of that myth. Yes we spend all day from 8:30 in the morning to 3:15 in the afternoon at school. But teachers are considerate and allow you to work in groups all the time, let you hang out with your friends in class and when recess comes along, teachers give you an extra 5 mins to talk to our friends. They make sure that the work given is doable in class so that once we come home, we have those hours to enjoy summer with our friends and families.
My experience with summer school has been very positive. I came into my class preparing myself for a month of full of projects and non-stop homework. I was actually shocked when i saw that all the teachers are very loving and they are considerate of the fact that we would rather be out playing or visiting new places. Summer School has been a great experience as i got to meet a lot of new people and and learned a lot of new things. Of course, summer school meant homework, but our teacher was very kind and made sure that everything was doable within the time he gave us at school. Because of this, i was able to still go home, and enjoy whatever was left of the day. Summer school encouraged me to continue trying my best and the teacher i had was very nice and spent time going over what had to be done and made sure all the kids understood what was expected from us.
I will never forget my time at this school as this will be my last year of summer school. Next year is the year of 24/7 hard work and applications for university. I would not say that i wasted my time with this course in the summer because 1. i don't have to worry about it all year next year and 2. I made a lot of new friends and gained experience that will take me a long way. If i was to recommend summer school, i would definitely tell other kids to come to this school and finish courses so that they have one less thing to worry about. The staff is very loving and the environment of the school is always welcoming.
I cannot believe that summer school is about to come to an end. Thankfully, I will take back a lot of memories and they definitely will last a lifetime.

Life's Most Awesome moments
Today I will be talking about some of the best moments I have had in life so far. They will just be brief explanations as if allowed, I would talk about them all day long.
1. My 16th Birthday Party: I had thank you speeches ready and there were special surprise performances, too. We had spent 5 months planning and preparing for my birthday and my grandma was able to fly in from India for 6 months. We had made the food at home so we had the special home-made taste, and people from all over came to attend the party.

2. When I was young, I remember I had the phase of WANTING a Winnie the Pooh teddy bear. Ever since I was little, I've been a fan of teddies and when my parents first got it for me, i got them to take a picture right away!
3. My last trip to India had been very memorable. I wasn't young anymore so I got the privilege of getting to go everywhere with my cousins! I was even able to celebrate my birthday there! A LOT of people came, I didn't even know who half of them were!
4. I remember when my grandparents gave my family a surprise by coming to Canada! We knew they were going to come, we just didn't know what the date was. My uncle took my family outside and my grandparents came into the house and just casually sat on the sofas. We were really happy and surprised.
5. There was a time with I had 4 birthday parties!! One was a surprise party at school the day before my birthday. That evening, my uncles and aunts came over with a surprise cake because they wouldn't be able to attend my party the next day. Then ofc, came the party with my friends and closest family members. On the day of the party, we got a call from a relative saying that they got stuck with work so they wouldn't be able to make it. The next day, they showed up with a mini cake so that they could make up for the party. It was a great feeling knowing that there are so many people out there who care for you.
6. The day I first got to go to an all you can eat buffet was one of the most funniest days of my life!! We went around 2/3 in the afternoon and started eating! We started off with the starters and we couldn't stop eating!! We ate and tried everything the restaurant had to offer. My friends and my family left around 7 in the evening and that day will always be remembered by all of us. We laughed and talked about the most weirdest things! We made sure we took a little of everything so that the next time we go, we know what to take and what to avoid. We even dared each other to mix the most random food items together and they HAD to finish it. Ofc we made sure that we only mixed a little in case they couldn't eat it.

Top 5 FAV things to eat
HEY!! So today I'm going to list my top 5 favourite things to eat and it will include all sorts of things, from Indian cultural food to Canadian fast food.
1. Pani Puri: an indian snack that many people eat all around the world.
2. Sizzler: something you can eat for dinner or as a heavy snack such as around 2/3... it is basically a dish of food that is served when it still makes a sizzling sound and it contains many different things. If you prefer it to be in a variety of styles, then you can get fries, noodles, pasta, chicken, rice, potato wedges, green peppers, onions and much more.
3. Indian Hakka-Chinese food: It usually consists of rice, noodles, vegetable balls, soup and much more. The only thing is that it has a hint of Indian spices and gives it a traditional spicy taste. If you live in Scarborough, Toronto... I would HIGHLY recommend going to a restaurant called Hakka Legend, it is located near Markham and Ellesmere.
4. Punjabi Food: It's mostly food that is found all over the world now as it has become more and more popular. It originates from parts of India and people add their own variations to it according to their own personal taste.
5. Indian Sweets:Although they consist of a lot of fat, I LOVE Indian sweets and eat them whenever we buy them. There are many variations to the sweets according to what they want to put in it. Many people have it made with milk, pistachios, nuts, carrots (carrot pudding) and much more.
(carrot pudding - tastes 100x better than it sounds)
